Keep cool while facing the public, says CM Sarbananda Sonowal

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda chanted the mantra of tolerance before BJP workers asking them to face the public in cool mind when they come down heavily on the party and the government.

Speaking to party workers as the chief guest at a workshop organized by the media cell of the State BJP here on Sunday, Sonowal said, "We need to work transparently with respect to the public. We need to give due weightage to what people say and think. If the public and the media criticize us badly, we need to face them in cool mind. We need to specify them on the ground reality. They'll surely accept that.

"We need to take what the government has done for Chief Minister Sarbananda chanted the mantra of tolerance before BJP workers asking them to face the public in cool mind when they come down heavily on the party and the government.he wellbeing of the people of the State."

Talking to the media later, Sonowal said, "We've completed four years and a half with support from the people of plains, hills and both the valleys of the State. There were also some critical situations, but with people's support we could overcome them.

"I feel the people of the State have seen what the present government has been doing for public welfare. Since the middlemen have been removed, the benefits of all central and state schemes go to the beneficiaries directly through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system. I firmly believe that we've been able to meet the assurances given to the public. "We can say with confidence that the people of Assam will help the BJP to form the next government in the State."

BJP's national spokesperson M Kikon was also present at the press meet. He spoke on the strategy of the party in the forthcoming Assembly election in the State.

BJP's State media cell convener DewanDhrubajyotiMorol appealed to the members of the media cell of the party to get ready for the Assembly election.
