Kidnapper's house raided in Guwahati, air pistol recovered

GUWAHATI: A police team from Garchuk Police Station has recovered an air pistol from the house of one Bhadreswar Tumung, who has been arrested in connection to the abduction of two businessmen from the Garbhang Reserve Forest. The police have suspected that the pistol was used to kidnap the victims. The police also brought Bhadreswar Tumung's 15-year-old brother to the police station for interrogation.

It is to be noted that the victims — Kushal Kalita and Jayanta Kachari were rescued from the Assam-Meghalaya border near Rani on July 3. According to an FIR lodged at the Gorchuk Police Station, the duo went missing on June 30 after going to the forest for plantation work on a motorcycle (AS01AG4194).
