Landslide claims life of a talented girl in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Now a talented girl who left her own signature in the field of culture has been killed in a landslide in Guwahati. She is the second victim of landslides in the metropolitan city this year.

Twenty-one-year-old Priyanka Boro lost her life in a landslide in the Kharguli area in Guwahati on Sunday. She was a sixth semester student of Guwahati College. In 2015, she secured the highest mark in music in the HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) examination. She took part in a number of cultural shows at various places in India. She had a plan to perform music abroad as well.

There was another incident of landslide at Bhagadutta Path in the Geetanagar area on Sunday. Rubbles fell on the house of Arati Talukdar collapsing it. There was no casualty.

Landslide continues to wreak havoc in Guwahati. With no tangible efforts seem to have been done from the administration's side the situation is menacingly aggravating in the metropolitan city.
