GUWAHATI: The same old tragedies, landslides and water-logging, have gripped Guwahati, leaving one dead and two others injured. There have been reports of landslides from Kahilipara, Maligaon, Amingaon and Bamunimaidam in Guwahati on Friday. This part, two trees were uprooted at Dighalipukhuripar near Cotton University Girls' Hostel on the day as heavy rains lashed the city. Md Tayabullah Road near the hostel wad blocked. The road was, however, cleared later.

In the landslide near Power House in the Kahilipara area on Friday morning, the house of Usha Bora collapsed when the guard wall of the nearby house fell on it. The owner of the house Usha Bora, her tenants Bharat Kalita and Golapi Kalita were trapped under the debris of the house. While Usha and Golapi could be rescued immediately and sent to the hospital, Bharat remained trapped for hours together.
