GUWAHATI: The authorities of the Maa Kamakhya Devalaya have announced some important regulations regarding Ambubachi Mela 2023. They have mentioned that a total of 400 CCTV cameras will be installed for the occasion. They will also engage 500 scouts and guides, 400 volunteers, and 100 private security personnel, in addition to the 120 regular security personnel. 100 temporary cleaners, besides 200 regular ones, have been engaged to maintain cleanliness in and around Devalaya. The Devalaya will be making arrangements for the food of all those engaged during the festival. Devotees will be permitted to enter Nilachal Hill until 9 p.m. this year. They have appealed to the general public not to come with little babies, elderly people, or physically weak people.
There will be no free lodging camp or free food distribution in the Nilachal Hills during the festival. Drinking water facilities, resting shades, a medical camp, and shoe counters will be set up at some points on the motorable road. There will be no facility to keep shoes in and around the Devalaya Complex. The doors of the temple will remain closed on June 23, 24, and 25, and there will be no options for special tickets on June 26 and 27. No VIP or VVIP passes will be available on June 26. Also, the entire Nilachal Hill has been declared a no-smoking zone, and people under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be able to enter the Devalaya complex. The Devalaya has requested the district administration to ensure round-the-clock water and power supply, medical facilities, toilet facilities, adequate security, and proper cleaning during the Ambubachi Mahayog.
