Man arrested for sexual assault in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: Bir Lachit Sena captured one man identified as Prafulla Hazarika for luring a girl to provide her job and then sexually assaulting her. The accused hails from Kaki in Nagaon district.

According to sources, three months earlier, the girl was brought from Majuli to Prafulla’s rented room in Borbari. He then intoxicated her, took her pictures, and later used those pictures to blackmail her. The girl informed the Bir Lachit Sena, and later the Sena captured him and handed him over to the Dispur Police. According to sources, she is not the only one whom he assaulted, but there are cases where he has sexually assaulted various other girls.
