Minor Girl Raped For Several Days By Her Uncle In Guwahati

Guwahati: In yet another case of rape in the city, a minor girl was allegedly raped by her uncle for several days after she was brought to Guwahati from her parent's home.

According to reports, the incident took place during the Bihu festival in mid-January.

The 8-year-old girl was brought to Guwahati by her Uncle from Kamrup district.

The crime came to light when she went back to home and apprised her mother regarding the same following which the girl's father filed a police complaint against the accused.

After registering an FIR, the police have started their investigation and are trying to nab the culprit as he is on the run.

Notably, a few weeks back, a father of three girls was accused of raping a minor in Margherita under Tinsukia district, triggering tension among the local residents.

According to sources, the accused Ajgar Talukdar, son of Tashir Ali Talukdar, resident of Hill View Margherita, took the victim in his car and alleged raped her in his garage.

The victim's family members said that Ajgar Talukdar was inebriated when the incident occurred and fled from the spot.
