More artistes join BJP in Assam ahead of Assembly polls next year

Guwahati: Singer Kallol Borthakur, singer-music director Biman Barua and a host of other artistes joined the saffron party in the presence of Assam BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass today. This comes after several other prominent artistes who have joined the BJP in the past few days, ahead of the state elections next year. Dass welcomed the entertainment professionals into the party.

Dass also took to Twitter to share the news.

Other artistes who joined the party today include Jayanta Kumar Sarma, Banjit Sarma, Kaushik Sarma, Bhabajyoti Das, Jagdish Sarma, Nikunja Medhi and Bubumoni Goswami. BJP party leaders Jayanta Malla Baruah, actor-turned politician Jatin Bora and singer-turned politician Vidya Sagar were also present at the event.

Earlier last month, flutist Deepak Sarma, singer Simanta Shekhar, actor Pranjana Dutta and fashion designer Rittika Hazarika joined the party in presence of Dass and other party leaders.
