MoU signed between C-DAC CINE and the Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati

The CDAC Centre in the North East (CINE) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati Research Park Foundation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

 GUWAHATI: The CDAC Centre in the North East (CINE) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati Research Park Foundation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the C-DAC CINE R&D extension cell at the IIT’s campus. The primary objective of this partnership is to foster innovation and research in cutting-edge fields such as High-performance computing, Artificial intelligence, Cyber security, multilingual technologies, and other areas of technological advancement.

A momentous event unfolded at the IIT Conference Centre, where a signing ceremony took place on July 20. Notable attendees included Syedain Abbasi, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary of the Information Technology Department, Government of Assam; Prof. Parameswar K. Iyer, Director of IIT Guwahati; Prof. G. Krishnamoorthy, Registrar In-Charge of IIT Guwahati; Gaurav Upadhyay, IPS, Additional Secretary of the Department of Transport, Government of Assam; Aditya Kumar Sinha, Director of C-DAC Patna and C-DAC Kolkata; Jitesh Choudhary, Director of C-DAC CINE; along with representatives from both CDAC CINE and IIT Guwahati.

Jitesh Choudhary, the Director of C-DAC CINE, extended a warm welcome to all the distinguished personalities present and felicitate them. He then shared his perspective on the potential of this collaboration to drive remarkable advancements in the technological domain.

Following that, the programme advanced with the official signing of the MoU between C-DAC CINE and the IIT Guwahati Research Park Foundation. The programme concluded with Alok Dey, Administrative Officer of C-DAC CINE, delivering the Vote of Thanks. He extended his heartfelt appreciation to all the dignitaries in attendance at the ceremony.

The new extension cell is set to become a hub of innovation, attracting researchers, scholars, and industry experts from across the nation. It will be a collaborative space that promotes interdisciplinary research and creates fertile ground for technological breakthroughs. IIT Guwahati, known for its pioneering work and state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments, has been acknowledged as a hub of innovation. On the other hand, C-DAC’s reputation for high-end Research and Development (R&D) and its role in driving the Information Technology (IT) revolution further solidify the value of this partnership.
