NFR cancels, reschedules key trains as restoration work continues near New Harangajao

GUWAHATI: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) announced further changes to train services amid ongoing restoration work near New Harangajao station following the settlement of railway tracks on Lines 1 and 2.

Train No. 15617 (Guwahati–Dullabcherra) and Train No. 15615 (Guwahati–Silchar) Express, scheduled to commence on August 24, were cancelled. Their return services, Train Nos. 15618 (Dullabcherra–Guwahati) and 15616 (Silchar–Guwahati), scheduled for August 25, were also cancelled.

Train No. 15650 (Narangi–Agartala) Express was rescheduled to depart Narangi at 6.30 pm on August 24. Train No. 20501 (Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal) Tejas Express was rescheduled to depart Agartala at 7 pm, while Train No. 14037 (Silchar–New Delhi) Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express was rescheduled to depart Silchar at 10.10 pm.

Train No. 12501 (Kolkata–Agartala) Express, commencing its journey on August 23, was regulated en route.

Train operations over the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section continued through Line 3 with enhanced safety measures, a press release said.
