North East International Fashion Weekend (NEIFW) With A Cause

GUWAHATI: The city is preparing for the 4th Season of the (NEIFW) North East International Fashion Weekend which is happening in (Assam). NEIFW is a platform to showcase for upcoming aspiring designers and discover new talents. It is a professionally managed show, with top models being flown in from Delhi and Mumbai and also from the neighbouring countries to present the creations. The event is an attempt to infuse North East’s unique heritage of indigenous crafts with avant-garde style and give it a global exposure. The entire show is managed under the banner of fashion designer and choreographer Prasantt Ghosh’s ‘Kreative People’. There would be stalls from both budding and established companies and Brands

As per a press release, the NEIFW is not just another Fashion Event but a Fashion Event with a social cause. The social theme of the event was for the Old-Age home, previous seasons it was associated with PETA and eye donation. Most importantly the objective of the event is to create brand awareness among the public and media associated with the fashion industry of the Northeast. The NEIFW always target the domestic/international buyers with the right trends and promote North East Handloom and Handicrafts. The NEIFW also has the impressive lineup of designers and models from Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. It is a landmark event in the sense that the Northeast is now going to be the latest fashion destination in the country.
