

GUWAHATI: The Union Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas is organizing the North East Zonal Conference on PM Gati Shakti - National Master Plan for multi modal connectivity - at Guwahati on February 28, stated a press release.
The conference is being organized on the Action Plans and Projects of North East Zone, involving Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim and West Bengal.
The Prime Minister will address the webinar. Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep S Puri, Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, MOS (PNG & Labour) Rameswar Teli, ministers of the participating States will address the conference.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Gati Shakti National Master Plan on October 13 last year for holistic development of infrastructure projects for multi-modal connectivity.
The Government of India has developed a comprehensive plan to integrate all the existing and proposed development initiatives by way of PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. The National Master Plan will provide an integrated platform where all the economic zones and their multimodal connectivity infrastructure have been depicted. To create a robust monitoring mechanism for the development and implementation of the National Master Plan, an Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS) has been constituted to review, consider and approve any changes in the Master Plan to meet any emerging requirements as per the laid down norms/ framework.
Further, an Integrated Multimodal Network Planning Group (NPG) has been constituted with representation from various connectivity infrastructure Ministries/Departments for examining all the interventions proposed to be taken by various Ministries and delineate all projects where synchronization of efforts are required and propose any changes in the National Master Plan for consideration and approval of the EGoS.
The Conference will help various Ministries/Department of the Government in understanding the technological solutions and spatial planning tools designed by BISAG-N for efficient implementation and timely clearances of the projects.
Optimal synchronization and planning of the projects will enable to complete the projects in time resulting in higher economic growth and job creation. The digital initiative will play a big role in ensuring timely clearance, flagging potential issues as well as in project monitoring.
