North Eastern tourism organizes cycle rally from Kasturba Gandhi Ashram to Deepor Beel

PALASBARI: The Ministry of Tourism, North Eastern regional office, Guwahati, organised a cycle rally from Kasturba Gandhi Ashram to Deepor Beel in association with Natventure and Rongmon Eco-Tourism Society, Deepor Beel, as a part of an awareness campaign on sustainable and responsible tourism among the people on Thursday.

The event was attended by 40 cyclists representing travel trade and hospitality stakeholders, students, government officials, and others. The rally was passed through Ulubari-Garchuk-Deepor Beel. The objective of the rally is to create greater awareness about sustainable and responsible tourism among people and the local host community.

There will be a sapling plantation in a school near Deepor Beel. Maninder Singh, IAS Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Youth Affairs, and Sports, Government of Assam, kindly consented to flag off the rally. Anil Oraw, regional director NE, will accompany the flagging off with the Additional Chief Secretary and also ride to Deepor Beel.
