Noted actor Pranjit Das passes away in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Noted actor Pranjit Das breathed his last at a city hospital on Sunday. He was 61.

He had collapsed on stage on January 6 while performing at the Surya Hatsingimari mobile theatre. He was admitted to a hospital, where the doctors diagnosed that he had suffered a brain stroke.

He was an impactful actor who gained popularity through mobile theatre as his acting touched the hearts of viewers.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah and Education Minister Ranoj Pegu expressed deep grief at Das' demise and extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
