One Killed, 5 Injured In Road Accident on MG Road at Machkhowa

GUWAHATI: A passenger travelling in a Magic metro taxi (AS-25BC2245) died in the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College & Hospital) and five others sustained injuries when an Alto car (AS01BF5506) hit the taxi from behind on MG Road at Machkhowa here on Sunday.

The accident occurred when the Magic metro taxi was letting passengers to get alighted from it the Alto hit it from behind. Initially three passengers of each of the two vehicles – Bhaben Patowary (56), Babul Ali and Kandarpo Patowary traveling by the Magic, and Milton Pradhani, Suman Pradhani and Mithun Pradhani travelling by the Alto – were injured. All the six were immediately taken to the GMCH where Bhaben Patowary breathed his last. Patowary hailed from Hajo. The Alto was coming to Guwahati from Gossaingaon.
