Park Cars And Attend Calls: Regional Transport Authority (RTA)

GUWAHATI: Regional Transport Authority (RTA) secretary, Bapon Kalita, while speaking about the cab drivers predicament said, “There is no need for such fuss over the MV Act as the law is for the safety of the people. It is true that the rental cabs in the city have to make use of the cell phones, however, there is no need to attend the calls while driving. They can simply park the cars and talk like any other person who gets a call while driving. There is no hassle in doing that and like everyone else, these cab drivers must also follow the rules of the Act.”
