Plea to grant incentives to A+ schools of Gunotsav 2017, 2018

GUWAHATI: The West Katigorah Rural Development Organization, a non-voluntary organization, has urged the government to take steps for granting financial incentives to A+ schools of Gunotsav 2017 (second and third phase) and Gunotsav 2018.

The organization has submitted memoranda to the Chief Minister, the State Education Minister, the Secretary of School Education, Assam and the Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Assam (SSA) in this regard. In the memorandum, the organization stated that the Government of Assam gave financial incentives to A+ schools of the first phase of Gunotsav 2017 but the A+ schools of the second and third phase of Gunotsav 2017 and all phases of Gunotsav 2018 were deprived of the financial incentives.

The memorandum stated that the outstanding performers of the second and third phase of Gunotsav 2017 and all phases of Gunotsav 2018 should be rewarded and encouraged or they would be demotivated and this would impact their active participation for ensuring "smooth and successful schooling". The organization has therefore, appealed to the goverment to take necessary measures to grant financial incentives to these schools.

On the other hand, SSA recently announced that the ceremonial distribution of incentives to A+ schools of Gunotsav 2022 would be held on December 25 at Veterinary College playground, Khanapara in Guwahati.
