GUWAHATI: The Bharat Yatra, which will be organised by the All India Primary Teachers’ Federation (AIPTF) for the restoration of the OPS (Old Pension Scheme) and the cancellation of the NPS (National Pension System), had a meeting on how to conduct the rally successfully from Assam. The preparation meeting was held under the Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association (ASPTA) in Guwahati on Thursday.
In the meeting, various government employee associations participated. The Bharat Yatra will commence on September 5 and end on October 5. This yatra will be joined by every state, and it will end in Delhi.
For this Bharat Yatra, a gohari (notice) has been released. The Bharat Yatra will commence on September 5 in Guwahati. Other than that, the protest rally will also be conducted on September 6 in Sivasagar, September 7 in Biswanath, September 8 in Nalbari, and September 9 in Kokrajhar.
Since 2007, AIPTF has been organizing protests at the national level for the cancellation of NPS. They have also organized protest rallies at Jantar Mantar in Delhi in the years 2014, 2017, and 2020.
In today’s meeting, the All Assam’s NPS Employees Association, which represented 48 associations, Sadou Asom Sanmilit Sikshak Mancha, which represented 10 other teacher organisations, the Bodo Primary Teachers’ Association, the TET qualified teachers association, the Tutor Association, the Assam High School Teachers’ Association, the ME School Teachers Association, and the Junior College Teachers Association were present.
