Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Guwahati Organizes 4th NE PR Conclave

GUWAHATI: The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Guwahati Chapter, organized the 4th North East Public Relations Conclave on the theme ‘Public Relations in bridging gaps on August 31, 2019 in Guwahati.

The event was graced by Managing Director, Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) SK Barua, as the Chief Guest, while the doyen of PR in India &CEO, Ritham Communications Rita Bhimani, and CMD, Pride East Entertainments Private Limited Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, were the Guests of Honour. In his inaugural address, SK Barua said “The role of PR has drastically changed over time. Focus has shifted from one-sided communication to a holistic engagement with stakeholders to achieve long-term results. It is very crucial to identify our audience, to rightfully engage with them and maintain good PR with them.’

The doyen of PR in India Rita Bhimani in her keynote address highlighted that the role of PR & CC professionals is to be harbingers of information and transparency. While actively engaging with the audience through interesting PR concepts and pointers, she said,‘ Change in mindset and approach is imperative to bridge the gaps to achieve success’.

Rita Bhimani’s latest book PR2020: The Trending Practice of Public Relations was released amidst the august gathering. Riniki Bhuyan Sarma in her speech cited that ‘PR is a meditation through which we have to touch the lives of people’ while stressing on the importance of social responsibility of every business entity. The Annual Journal of PRSI Guwahati Chapter, Seven Sisters was also released by the distinguished guests.
