Purabi Milk Day Observed at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra

GUWAHATI: State Cooperation Minister Rihon Daimary has said that with its dairy products WAMUL (West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd) is set to add pace to the ongoing white revolution in Assam, and the State government is ready to extend all help in the movement. The minister said this while speaking at a function at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra here in Guwahati on the occasion the Purabi Milk Day on Tuesday.

Daimary said: “If WAMUL hikes the price of milk in consultation with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) milk production will get a boost in Assam.” In order to encourage milk production in the State, rewards in the form of cheques were given away to the greatest woman dairy farmer, the greatest dairy farmer for supplying milk without disruption, mobile animal husbandry workers and others.
