SAGMDJP appeals Assam govt. to take adequate steps to tackle scarcity of food items

GUWAHATI: The Sadou Asom Goria-Moria-Deshi Jatiya Parishad (SAGMDJP) has appealed to the State government and especially the Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs Department to take adequate steps to tackle the scarcity of food items.

The SAGMDJP in a press release appreciated the steps taken by the Health Department to fight COVID-19. Moinul Islam general secretary (in Charge) of SAGMDJP said the steps taken by the government to fight against the global pandemic are very positive and public should cooperate in turning the lockdown to a success.

Appealing the Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs Department to act in a more effective manner, the SAGMDJP said the department should take adequate initiatives to ensure that people don’t die of hunger amid the lockdown period. The SAGMDJP further said the government should be vigilant so that the helpline numbers remain effective and the people appointed for this job carefully does their duty and help the public.
