Sarba Siksha Abhiyan: HC issues notices on multi-crore scam

GUWAHATI: In connection with an alleged multi-crore scam, the Guwahati High Court has issued notices — returnable in four weeks — to the Union and State governments, as well as the 'Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission' Director Assam and Sivasagar District Mission Coordinator. The case is list for hearing after six weeks.

"The respondents may file their affidavits within three weeks. The petitioner also may file its rejoinder", added the order.

The Court issued the notices in response to a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) — 23/2021 filed by NGO (non-governmental organization): Amguri Naba Nirman Samity. The PIL was filed based on a report of CAG (Comptroller & Auditor General) of India.
