GUWAHATI: Various organizations such as the AITUC, AICCTU, AIUTUC, under the banner Save Industry Save Workers Joint Struggle Committee, Assam, staged dharnas at several locations around the State.

The committee protested at Guwahati Lakhminath Bezbarua Chowk on Monday against the State and Centers anti-labour and anti-public sector industries policies. They also submitted separate memorandums to the Chief Minister of the State as well as to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kamrup Metropolitan.

Convernors of the Committee, Romen Das and Pankaj Kumar Das, stated in a release that the BJP Government has been selling dreams of a prosperous Assam but with its industrial sector policies, it seems more inclined to lead the State to the gravesite.
