Senior Advocate & Independent Candidate Upamanyu Hazarika files nomination at Amingaon in Guwahati

Guwahati: Senior Advocate and Independent candidate from Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency Upamanyu Hazarika on Wednesday files his nomination at the office of the Returning officer and Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kumar Baishya at Amingaon in North Guwahati.

Hazarika was accompanied by his supporters when he arrived to submit his nomination papers.

Speaking to the media, Upamanyu Hazarika said, "I am contesting elections to fight for the rights of the indigenous people of the state. In order to protect the identity of Assam, vote for me.”

He added, “The national parties do not care about the indigenous people of the state. Each and every political party had cheated the people of Assam, therefore, my first priority would be 'Khilongia First' (Indigenous people) and I will continue my fight for them.”
