Senior Gauhati High Court lawyer Prabin Barthakur passes away

GUWAHATI: Senior Gauhati High Court lawyer Prabin Barthakur, a popular resident of Gandhibasti, passed away in the wee hours of Wednesday at his residence following prolonged illness. He was 74. A veteran legal practitioner of the region, Barthakur, whose family originally hailed from Kalugaon near Sivasagar, leaves behind his wife, two sons, a sister and two brothers, besides a host of relatives and well-wishers. He was cremated at the Navagraha Smashan on Wednesday.
