Sexual harassment case: GU PG students demand probe against Assistant Professor

GUWAHATI: The PG (Post Graduate) Students' Union (PGSU) has demanded a thorough investigation into the alleged sexual harassment charges against Dr Amit Pandey --an Assistant Professor of the Hindi Department.

In this regard, the students' body also submitted a memorandum to the VC (Vice Chancelor) of the varsity. The PGSU has further demanded that a special investigation committee -- with also students' representatives -- must be constituted.

The students' body further said in the memorandum that the teacher under the scanner should not be allowed to participate in departmental activities when the investigation gets under way. And if found guilty, strict action should be taken against the person, added the PGSU.
