 GUWAHATI: The Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Assam has mentioned that India, which has a multitude of languages, has been held together by the literature and culture of the region.

Through a press meet at the Guwahati Press Club, it was mentioned that Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad has been working tirelessly since 1966 towards the development of literature and culture across languages and promotion of cultural interchange towards building a stronger and united India by supporting the nationalistic literature and promoting the budding writers working that direction. They are also working towards not only strengthening the Indian culture but also presenting the same to the world.

The president of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Assam, Mrinalini Devi also informed that the parent organization has already completed its Golden Jubilee and that the Assam unit of the organization was created by some visionaries from the state in 1999 and that the starting of the Silver Jubilee year celebrations for the Assam unit will be flagged off on 14 December 2023. She also informed that the events will be undertaken throughout the year to mark the celebrations with the second event planned for Tezpur, the third for Jorhat while the fourth and final event will be organized in Morigaon.

The schedule for the inaugural event was also released during the press meet. The event will start with the formal hosting of the flags on the morning of December 14. Thereafter the officials will be facilitated. An open meeting will be organised from 2 PM onwards which will be attended by the Governor of Assam, the Vice Chancellor of Pragjyotishpur University Assam and the Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad. It can be noted that five noted writers from multiple languages will be facilitated during this open meeting.
