Smartphones for students of Classes-IX & X on the cards

GUWAHATI: To facilitate online classes among students in classes IX and X, the Assam government has started the process to provide smartphones — free of cost — to them in the government and provincialized high schools across the State.

Mentionably, the move is the result of the government's announcement on the floors of the Assam Assembly in this regard. The Director of Secondary Education, Assam, P Jidang, on August 2, 2021, directed the IS (Inspector of Schools) to immediately submit the information so that the beneficiaries can avail of the smart phones from the current academic session of 2021 -2022.
