GUWAHATI: As the tense situation continues in the northeast Indian state of Manipur, more than 23000 people have been evacuated by the Indian Army to safer locations. A large number of people from different states of the country are, however, still stranded in the state.

In order to evacuate as many people as possible from Manipur to Assam, several special flights have been arranged. AirAsia operated one additional commercial relief flight from Guwahati Airport to Imphal Airport. Flybig operated one flight in the morning of Monday, which brought back 70 students from Imphal to Guwahati. The second flight of the day was scheduled for 6:40 p.m.

Alliance Air has one scheduled flight to Imphal from Guwahati, but they are operating four additional flights between the two cities under government initiatives. These flights depart from Guwahati at 9:30 AM and 3:35 PM, respectively, and arrive at Guwahati at 3:15 PM and 6:05 PM, respectively. Flybig and Alliance Air had evacuated 140 students each, and Air Asia had evacuated a total of 180 people until 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
