Guwahati: The timeless art of storytelling came alive at Sabhaghar, Panchabati, Silpukhuri, as a grand literary soirée recently brought together seven prolific storytellers, captivating an audience of all ages with tales spanning diverse genres and themes.

The evening featured celebrated voices, including Amar Jyoti Chaudhury, Kula Saikia, Bibhash Chaudhury, Bhaskar Jyoti Nath, Pori Hiloidari, Aranyak Saikia, and Purabi Bora. Each narrated signature works—Golpotoheral, Mein Mohan Das Nahi Hoon, Kushiyara Noir Hipare, Vikram Chanda’s Shanti, Wilsonorghor, and Jiwonorkotha—weaving a spellbinding experience that kept listeners entranced.

Co-hosted by writer-novelist Geetali Bora and storyteller Apu Bhardwaz, the event blended literary finesse with social commentary. Bhaskar Jyoti Nath’s socio-political narrative on identity and immigration drew critical attention, while the works of Kula Saikia, Aranyak Saikia, and Pori Hiloidari mesmerized the gathering. Bibhash Chaudhury’s unconventional plot infused with social satire also earned applause, said a press release.
