Guwahati: A sacred chariot, one of five sacred chariots taking part in the nationwide Rath Yatra to mark the centennial year celebration of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, will reach Assam on October 1, 2025, and then proceed to other Northeastern states of Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, said Satyen Sharma, Zonal President of North-East Region, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation.
As part of the centennial year celebration of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the nationwide Rath Yatra was launched during the Aradhana Mahotsavam on April 24 in Prashanthi Nilayam in Andhra Pradesh. For the Rath Yatra, five sacred chariots have been prepared which are named “Sri Sathya Sai Prema Pravahini”.
Each chariot will cover over 30,000 kilometres travelling across the five zones – North, South, East, West and Central – spreading Sathya Sai Baba’s message of Love All, Serve All to millions. At the heart of each chariot, there is a beautifully designed altar which is a replica of the Prashanthi Sannidhi, radiating the same serenity and sanctity of the holy Mandir in Prashanthi Nilayam. Sri R. J. Ratnakar, Managing Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, flagged off the five exquisitely adorned chariots alongside Sri Nimish Pandya, All India President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Sri Koteswar Rao, National Seva Co-ordinator, and other dignitaries.Sri Satyen Sharma, Zonal President of the North-East Region; Dr Gokul Das, State President of Assam; Pradip Kumar Sharma, Service Co-ordinator; and Samarjit Das, Spiritual Co-ordinator of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, were also present on that sacred occasion.This sacred chariot “Sri Sathya Sai Prema Pravahini” will pass through Orissa, West Bengal and Sikkim and reach Assam on October 1, 2025. The chariot will visit each district of Assam and also the states of Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, and finally it will be handed over to West Bengal at Kamakhyaguri on November 27, 2025, a press release said.
