GUWAHATI: An operation was launched by the Special Task Force (STF) Assam based on input to bust a possible drug consignment on Saturday. Accordingly, the STF apprehended six peddlers involved in the criminal act in the Khanapara area. The peddlers are identified as Sanjay Biswa (28) of Byrnihat, Meghalaya, Avtar Singh (30) of Natun Bazar, Basistha, Shyamal Pegu (19) of Dhangdhora, Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur, Bikash Ali (23) of Kopalkata Sonapur, Nayan Talukdar (28) of Udaynagar, Koynadhara, and Yuvraj Kalyan (24) of Punjabi colony, Dispur Last Gate.

According to sources, the STF, along with the peddlers, led to the seizure of 46 grams of heroin concealed in 33 vials from their possession. The seized heroin and the peddlers are handed over to Basistha Police Station for further necessary actions.
