GUWAHATI: The process for mutual transfer of teachers of Government and provincialized schools resumed on Wednesday after a gap of three years. The process resumed via submission of online applications by teachers.
All categories of teachers of Government and provincialized schools of lower primary to senior secondary schools of the State can apply for transfer via mutual arrangement till March 17 next as per the provisions of the Assam Elementary and Secondary School Teachers' (Regulation of Posting and Transfer) Act, 2020. Applications for mutual transfer will be done via the hrmsassam.in website.
The process will be done under the Teacher Transfer Management System. Teachers who submitted their service profiles between November 22, 2021 and December 17, 2021 will be eligible to submit their online transfer applications.
The mutual transfers will on strictly on subject-to-subject, contractual -to-contractual and regular-to-regular basis. Earlier, the Assam State Primary Teachers' Association (ASPTA) had alleged that while the Education Department was implementing the provision for a 10-year embargo on transfer of teachers enshrined in the relevant Act, but for the last three years it has not been implementing the provision which allows mutual transfers each year.
ASPTA sources told The Sentinel on Wednesday that online transfers is likely to witness some problems because the many of the service profiles have not been approved as per Human Resource Management System (HRMS) or, in some cases, the service profiles could not be uploaded at all.
