GUWAHATI: Due to the ensuing visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to Assam, particularly his trip to Kohora on February 26 and Tezpur on February 27, the Assam Police has enforced some traffic regulation/restriction/diversion of commercial vehicles and buses on these two days, stated a press release.

Accordingly, movement of commercial goods carrying vehicles towards Tezpur town from Guwahati via Baihata Chariali, from Nagaon (via Koliabor Tiniali) and North Lakhimpur/Biswanath would remain restricted from 6 am to 3 pm on February 26.

Movement of commercial goods carrying vehicles from Guwahati and Nagaon towards Kaziranga would remain restricted from 8 am to 4 pm on February 27. However, all commercial goods carrying vehicle can be diverted via Tezpur from Koliabor Tiniali towards Upper Assam after 1 pm on February 26.

Movement of commercial goods carrying vehicles coming from Dibrugarh, Sivasagar and Jorhat side towards Kaziranga would remain restricted from Bokakhat onwards from 10 am to 4 pm on February 26. However, they can move towards Guwahati via Tezpur after 3 pm on February 26.

The long-distance passenger buses would be able to travel between Bokakhat and Bagori from 8 pm of February 26 to 4 am of February 27.

Light Motor Vehicles carrying passengers would be restricted/regulated between 12 noon and 7 pm on February 26 and 5 am to 4 pm on February 27 between Bokakhat and Bagori, depending on the VVIP movement.

However, ambulances/vehicles carrying patients would be allowed priority passage during all times.
