Turkish Natives Caught over Online Loot Scam in Mumbai

GUWAHATI: In the recent slew of online loots in the city of almost Rs 16 lakh, Mumbai police picked up two hackers Idgi Imrah and Abdul Halik, both of Turkish nationality. City police crime branch and Paltan Bazar police have left for Mumbai on Thursday.

Commissioner of Police Deepak Kumar said, “The accused Idgi Imrah and Abdul Halik were under a tourist visa. They visited Guwahati a while back and fitted spy cameras, memory cards, and data devices which can record ATM details of bank customers, after which they made their way to Mumbai. Besides these two, we suspect that there are other people involved as well. After the court proceeding in Mumbai, the two will be brought to Guwahati.”
