Two-day strike of United Forum of Bank Unions for wage revision begins in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The two-day strike of United Forum of Bank Unions for wage revision of employees, started from Friday. The employees demonstrated in front of their respective branches holding placards and asking the Indian Banks’ Association to fulfill their demands. As per reports, their demands include - 20% salary hike, Introduction of 5 working days, Merger of special allowance with basic pay, Scrapping of the new pension scheme, Updating of pension scheme, Allocation to staff welfare fund based on operating profits, defined working hours for officers and some other demands. Reportedly, the two-day strike will be followed by a three-day strike on 11th 12th and 13th March and further followed by continuous indefinite strike from April 1 demanding the wage revision.
