Victor Das detained on the charge of domestic violence, freed on bail

GUWAHATI: Government school teacher Victor Das hit headline again. This time, the police detained him yesterday on the charge of domestic violence. However, the police freed him on bail.

According to the police, Victor Das went to his in-laws' house at Jayanagar under the Maligaon outpost and physically assaulted his wife and her relatives yesterday. His wife lodged an FIR at the Maligaon outpost, leading to the registration of a case (10/2023 u/s 323/427/494 of IPC) at Jalukbari Police Station.

The police had earlier detained Victor Das on the charge of circulating fake news regarding alleged irregularities in Grade III and IV recruitment examinations.
