GUWAHATI: The Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture (VKIC) here, during celebration programme of 25 years of its existence with the theme of 'Tejasvi Bharat', on Sunday released five books through the hands of Swami Govinda Dev Giri Ji Maharaj.

A press release stated that the books include 'Samskriti Aikyam Pushnati', a souvenir published on the occasion of the 25 years journey of VKIC. Through this souvenir VKIC shares about its work in retrospect and its way ahead.

The second book is 'Quest Commemorative Volume, January 2022', a bi-annual research journal of VKIC which is published on specific themes. This publication is a collection of select articles from earlier issues with a focus on VKIC's motto of 'Culture Nurtures Unity'.

The third book is 'The Quest for Self Renewal - Unsung Spiritual Gems of the Northeast'. The VKIC on its foundation day offers the VKIC Sanmaan to a personality who is working to preserve and protect the culture of his/her community in the North-East region. This publication offers a short introduction to the earlier VKIC awardees since the inception of this Sanmaan.

The fourth book is 'Traditional Systems of the Aka (Hrusso) Community: Change and Continuity'. This publication contains the proceedings of a seminar on the Aka community which was held on in 2007 at Bhalungpung in Arunachal Pradesh. The last book is 'The Notions of Governance in our Itihasa-Purana Tradition'. This is the Radhanath Phukan Memorial Lecture held online in 2021 and delivered by Dr Bibek Debroy, noted economist and author.

The book release function was facilitated by Dr Joram Begi, Chairman, VKIC, Prof PC Bhattacharjee, Director, VKIC, Namgyal Lepcha, VKIC Sanmaanee 2022 from Sikkim and Dr Sonam Lepcha also from Sikkim.
