Voters Party International (VPI) Takes out Rally Against CAA

GUWAHATI: Terming the democracy as fake, the Voters Party International (VPI) took out a ‘Smashan Yatra’ from Gauhati Club to Uzan Bazaar Ghat and immersed a ‘symbolical democracy’.

The Voters Party International, Assam State Committee took out a silent rally as ‘Nakali Ganatantrar Smashaan Yatra’ (funeral procession of fake democracy). Besides terming the democracy as dead and duplicate, the party is now determined for establishment of the actual democracy in the country from the New Year.

VPI state president Lalit Pegu said, “Now Hitler’s rule is prevailing in the country. The Government is on a mission to silence the voice of public. All people of Assam are continuously fighting for the safety of the Assamese Language, culture, civilization and identity. However, even after the sacrifice of life by students and public, the government refuses to understand what the people of the State want. Lakhs of people are opposing the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) and yet the government has left no stone unturned to forcibly impose the Act. It can never be regarded as a democratic government.”
