Woman arrested for duping people in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Bhangagarh Police apprehended a woman for cheating a man by falsely promising him liquor licences, railway contracts, and other opportunities, on Sunday evening. The woman, identified as Jaya Das (40), from Chandmari, was apprehended based on the complaint filed by Rajib Bora.

Rajib Bora filed a case C/No. 162/23, U/S-420/406 IPC, at the Bhangagarh Police and said she made various false promises to get him various opportunities. Also to be mentioned, she even took Rs 1 crore with the promise of helping him get different contracts. Accordingly, when the Bhangagarh Police interrogated her, she confessed about her fraudulent activities.
