Woman arrested for possession of drugs in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Based on specific input, a woman named Rona Begum (40), wife of Mojibuddin Ahmed, resident of Dighalipukhuri area under Latashil PS, was arrested on Sunday night from a rented house in Ashok Path under Hatigaon PS. Around 10 gram heroin was recovered from her possession.

A Nexon vehicle (AS01EN 7486) along with cash Rs 40,000 were also seized. A case (648/2021 u/s 22 (c) of NDPS Act) has been registered under Hatigaon PS in this regard. Investigation is on to unearth further linkages.
