Woman found dead in Guwahati apartment; investigation underway

Guwahati: A young woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a rented house in Rukminigaon on Friday morning, sparking concerns among local residents.

The deceased, who hailed from Goalpara, had been living in the house for the past one and a half months. Employed at a local business establishment, her absence over the past few days had alarmed her family and neighbours.

Family members were unable to contact her for three days and became increasingly worried. Neighbours also reported not seeing her for two days. The situation took a grim turn when a foul smell began emanating from the house, leading them to investigate. Upon entering, they discovered her lifeless body. Police and forensic teams were immediately called to the scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death, which remains unknown.
