Woman Found In Burnt State In Guwahati's Christian Basti, Husband Detained

Guwahati: In a case of alleged torture by in-laws, a woman was admitted a hospital after she was found in a burnt state in Guwahati's Christian Basti on Friday.

According to reports, the woman identified as Nikita Agarwala Khemka was reportedly being tortured for a long time for dowry by her husband and family.

The couple had been married since 2018.

Meanwhile, the husband, identified as Kaushik Khemka, has been detained by the police.

Reports further claimed that the relatives of Nikita Agarwal Khemka have lodged an FIR against her in-laws at the Dispur PS in Guwahati.

Speaking on the same, the victim's mother apprised the media that her daughter had been undergoing severe mental harassment for the past years.
