Woman's body found inside sack in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The body of a woman named Mofida Begum (30) was found inside a sack that was dumped in a ditch at the Bhaskar Nagar area of Bamunimaidam here on Wednesday morning.

Police sources said that the victim had been staying at a rented house in the locality with her husband and two young daughters, but they were found to be missing after the body was recovered.

The sources added that Mofida Begum's current spouse was her second husband and her daughters were born while she was staying with her first husband.

Her original home was in Dhula in the Darrang district.

The body has been sent for an autopsy, while her relatives have lodged an FIR in this connection.
