A political drama

The recent incident of three women from Swadhin ri Mancha shaving their hair during a protest rally at Dighalipukhuri-par is nothing short of a drama.

The reason for opting to such an extreme way of protest is because they feel that the BJP has betrayed them by its misrule. The protest rally was also graced by SULFA leader Anup Chetia.
Now, where was this organisation or its members when there was ubated influx of Bangladeshis in Assam during the last 15 years of Congress rule, where were they when bighas of xatra lands were encroached upon by Bangladeshis, systematic poaching of rhino was carried out in Kaziranga tiol Park, indigenous people were made minority in nine districts of Assam, and when many innocent children were massacred by ULFA in Dhemaji during Independence Day a few years back?
Sadly no voices were raised then, but now after the gaon incident, some sections are creating a false propaganda that there is a threat perception from Hindu Bengalis to Assamese people and their culture. People of the State are not devoid of ratiol power, where they would not be able to discern the difference between the threat perception of Hindu Bengalis and illegal Bangladeshis. It is well understood who are behind these so-called Swadhin ri Mancha.
