Akhil, the 'messiah'

Akhil, the 'messiah'

Akhil, the 'messiah'

I was shell-shocked to listen and watch KMSS boss Akhil Gogoi's interview in Pratidin Time anchored by Nitumoni Saikia. At the onset, I want to state that the peasant leader is nothing but a self seeker without any ideology, principles and integrity. It has been noticed that his previous tirades against people like Himanta Biswa Sarma, Prithani, Lohia, Nilamoni Sen Deka were all inconclusive. He always starts his protest vociferously but with time his tirade loses steam. Maybe he is 'maged' by his 'victim'! Coming back to that particular interview, I was upset because he was constantly targeting a particular community (read Brahmins) continuously without any facts and figures. He was just uttering imagiry cooked stories. Thank God that not many people take Akhil Gogoi seriously but I pity those farmers who are still having faith and believe in him. It needs to be mentioned that the so called messiah of poor farmers is in fact taking the poor farmers for a ride for his own persol interests. His recent violent agitation to safeguard the interests of some doubtful people around the Kaziranga belt is nothing but a clear indicator that he is hardly concerned about the indigenous masses. Now, with assembly elections knocking at the door, I am sure that this so called krishak leader will turn into a broker and try to strike a deal with a political party in lieu of his handful of votes (mostly of doubtful tiolity). Probably he has already struck a deal with a tiol party!
