Ban on Plastic Bag

It is a welcome move that plastic bags are not given to customers by shopkeepers at Biswanath Chariali at present.

I would like to request the authority concerned to continue the process and do not discontinue it after some days due to pressure from the business community or from any influential lobby in larger interest of the public. In this connection, it is mentioned that according to Central Pollution Board (CPCB) 18 States/UTs have imposed complete ban on plastic carry bags/products. Some States have imposed partial ban. Some States have not yet imposed any ban, and Assam is one of them. I would, therefore, like to request the State Government to take the needful in this matter on a priority basis.
