Behaviour of traffic police

Biswathghat road is an important road of Biswath Chariali. The road is being repaired for about 9 months now, but has not yet been completed. A stretch of about 300 metre of half of the road (the road is not so wide) up to main police point was repaired on August 28, 2017, and vehicles were allowed to ply both ways on the other half of the road. It is generally seen that vehicles are allowed to ply in one direction for some time, and then from other direction and vice versa, giving sigl manually. On that day, I came to my home at Bamgaon, driving my car on that road and parked it on the extreme left side of the road. I went to a medicine shop for purchasing some medicine.

Just when I returned from shopping at a distance of about 200 metre from main police point after about 5 minutes, a policeman came and told me that I would have to pay fine for wrong parking. I requested him to consider my case. He did not pay heed. Then I requested him to give me money receipt. Then he phoned to another policeman and informed him that I desired money receipt and so he should come with money receipt book. After about 10 minutes, that policeman came and fined me Rs 500. Shops are closed weekly on Wednesday in that area of town. Then they could have taken up the repairing work on Wednesday. Thus, I am very much humiliated. We senior citizens like to live with dignity in old age. This is the case of highhandedness of policeman. Of course, the matter has been reported to the SP, Biswath Police District.
