Every Indian is happy that so many powerful nations are ready to back India in case China goes into a war with it. If the reason behind coming out openly against China is genuine altruism, it augurs well for India. But if the reason is to stop China from becoming stronger than all these so-called friends of India, one has to remember the proverbial crab mentality. The universal belief goes that if one crab tries to climb up, the rest of the crabs in the bucket try to pull it down. By the same logic, if it so happens, after sometime, that India begins to show signs of becoming stronger than these so-called friends, they will in that case try to pull India down. So India needs to be cautious of this crab mentality.
