Ensure reservation to OBC

Congress president Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding reservation of Other Backward Classes (OBC) in state medical seats. It is a matter of grave concern. OBC students have lost 11,000 seats since 2017 due to the denial of reservation in the state medical education institutions under all India quota. This denial is a barrier to access medical education for deserving candidates. It would be better for the Central Government and state governments to develop a mechanism to ensure reservation of OBC, and strictly follow the reservation rules at all levels.
